Minor Alterations

Minor Plumbing Alteration / Heating System Replacement

Because I’ve chosen to be an independent “One Man Shop” it can certainly be challenging at times. When I experience the high call volumes in the fall and winter, it gets crazy and I have all to do just to keep up with the demand.

So how do I handle jobs that are of a little larger scale? Well, simply put “I Don’t” I’m not equipped and therefore don’t take on any MAJOR or LARGE scale plumbing alterations and or heating system replacements any longer. My main focus is on residential repairs that can be performed in one day or less.

The Price Question?

79.00 dollars gets me in your door…

*$79.00 gets me in your door…If you choose to hire me after I quote you pricing, I’ll waive the initial $79.00 service call charge. The lowest callout fee in the industry.

Are you the right customer?

One of the biggest issues I deal with on a daily basis is the request for parts and labor breakdowns. May I pose a question to the hundreds of potential customers who are reading this? When was the last time you walked into a restaurant, major department store, furniture store, etc, and asked the salesperson to see parts and labor breakdowns? I’ll take an educated guess……..Probably Never!

As a consumer, I certainly understand wanting to get the best service for the lowest price. As a Brooklyn and Staten Island plumber, I would like to recover my costs plus add in a healthy profit for the risk I take in delivering those services. After 40 plus years in this industry, I’ve discovered a mission that I can’t fulfill. Provide the best service possible for the lowest price, it can’t be done.

Contractors who deliver the best quality can and should command higher prices than those who don’t. Most consumers are good people, but a fair amount is still in denial of the fact that compensation for top-quality workmanship should be commensurate with the quality. Unfortunately, most contractors have no idea of what it cost to do business and consequently set their selling prices by secretly calling their competitors to get quotes for specific tasks over the telephone NOT VERY SMART!

Then there are companies like mine who sought out the successful experts of my chosen field to learn how to properly price the services that are both fair to me as a plumbing contractor and you as a consumer. Of all the good-intentioned consumers who want to get the job done right, there is still 1% to 2% who I will never be able to satisfy. This is the way I see it, you’re either a value buyer or a price buyer.

Value buyers purchase based on value received, the price is secondary to the quality of the service performed. Price buyers base their decision on price only. These buyers more often than not end up getting hurt in the end when the job goes horribly wrong and they can’t get the contractor to return to address the issue. Which one are you? If you’re a price buyer I probably can’t help you, on the other hand, if you’re a value buyer, Let’s Talk!

Stay Well & Keep Out of Trouble,

Robert (Bob) Sessa
